ABA Discusses Banking Regulatory Challenges with President

The American Bankers Association (ABA) advocates for banking institutions in governmental policy-making. According to its website, the ABA seeks to prevent negative economic consequences that can result from burdensome banking regulations.
The ABA Banking Journal reports that ABA officers and leaders recently met with President Trump at the White House to discuss how banking regulation reform can promote job creation and economic growth. Bankers who met with the president raised topics relevant to the challenges that community banks face, including the need for Consumer Financial Protection Bureau accountability and the need to align regulatory capital requirements with risk.
